Namugong, Poblacion – A total of 44 participants from 24 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) took part in the CSO Conference conducted at the MDRRM Building earlier this morning.
Ms. Arriane D. La Madrid, Planning Officer II, and the CSO Desk Officer Designate acquainted the participants with an overview of the CSO conference. She presented the remaining activities in the CSO accreditation timeline provided by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Mr. Gilbert N. Lindawan, DILG Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) spoke on the mandated avenues of participation for CSOs as enshrined in the local government code of 1991.
Ms. Jocelyn H. Dulnuan, Secretary to the Office of the Sangguniang Bayan elaborated on the CSO accreditation process in the municipality as underlined in Municipal Ordinance No. 119 and in compliance with DILG MC 2022-83 (Accreditation of Civil Society Organizations and Selection of Representatives in the Local Special Bodies).
Ms. Marina N. Atolba, Executive Assistant I of Municipal Mayor Casan P. Dumulag expanded on the Local People’s Council, the requirements for CSOs, and the roles and responsibilities involved. The Sangguniang Bayan, she said, will facilitate the creation of the said council in the municipality.
The municipality carried out an inventory and directory of existing CSOs in July and posting of notice for the CSO conference as part of the whole process of CSO accreditation. #
