Around 100 Hungduan legislators come together at the Municipal Ground to celebrate the Local Legislators’ Day.
In order to recognize the legislator’s role and contribution as partners in local development, the municipality, through Municipal Ordinance No. 87, series of 2018 declares every first Monday of October of every year as the Local Legislators’ Day.
For this year, among the highlights of the celebration is the awarding of Plaque of Recognition and a cash incentive of P5,000.00 to Three Termer Legislators namely: Hon. Armando P. Bimmohya, Punong Barangay of Baang; Hon. Ramon M. Gayadang, Punong Barangay of Hapao; Hon. Rodolfo M. Dong-e, Punong Barangay of Nungulunan; Hon. James D. Belingon, Barangay Kagawad of Abatan; Hon. Marlon C. Bimmaynin, Barangay Kagawad of Baang; Hon. Fortunato I. Yogyog Jr., Barangay Kagawad of Bangbang; Hon. Angelina B. Kidungon, Barangay Kagawad of Hapao, Hon. Juan O. Tuguinay and Hon. Shirley D. Bahyad, Barangay Kagawads of Nungulunan and Hon. Jose C. Pinay-an, Barangay Kagawad of Poblacion.
Another highlight is the Search for the Best Performing Barangays on Local Legislation and Search for the Best Performing Barangay Legislators. The search covers July 1, 2018 to August 31, 2022.
The top three best performing Barangays are Poblacion, Bangbang and Lubo-ong having received a cash incentive of P3,000.00, P2,500.00 and P2,000.00, respectively.
Meanwhile, the top five Best Performing Legislators are Hon. Manuel Dulnuan, Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representative (IPMR) of Bangbang; Hon. Angelina Kidungon, Barangay Kagawad of Hapao; Hon. Efren Ananayo and Hon. Honico Liwan both Barangay Kagawads from Poblacion and Hon. Evangeline Pelagio, Barangay Kagawad of Baang. The top five outstanding legislators received a cash incentive of P1,000.00 each.
Other activities include competitions in parade, native dance, ball games and parlor games.
Meanwhile, the guest speaker Honorable Vice Governor Glen Prudenciano thoroughly discussed on the meaning, importance, the framework and the development issues for effective local legislation. He also tackled on the work of a legislator. In his closing statement, Hon. Prudenciano encouraged the Hungduan legislators to remain steadfast in fulfilling their mandated functions and duties as public servants.
The activity was spearheaded by the Sangguniang Bayan of Hungduan in coordination with the Barangay Local Government Units and the Executive Department of the Municipal Local Government Unit.
